School Connect was founded in 2006 to facilitate educational links between primary schools in the UK and Uganda. Since then more than more than 50 schools and many thousands of children have enjoyed cross-cultural friendship and enrichment through communication, curriculum support and exchange of resources.

What we do
School Linking

Primary schools in the UK and Uganda have been connected, pupils exchange letters, scrapbooks and pictures to encourage mutual respect, cultural understanding and friendship. Some UK schools have raised funds to provide improved resources or income generation projects for the partner school in Uganda.
Pupil Sponsorships

A small number of children, especially those without other access to education, have received sponsorship to help meet the cost of school fees.
Educational Partnerships
School Connect works closely with several Ugandan NGO’s to help deliver a range of specific programmes in schools:

Day One Global – I Just Froze is a campaign being pioneered by the Judith Heard Foundation to end rape and sexual violence in Uganda. School Connect fundraises for the delivery of awareness raising events and an education programme in Ugandan schools.

Spina Bifida and Hydracephalus Network Uganda (SHYNEA) – is an advocacy and support network for children and families living with disability, providing community education, access to clinical care and education for stigmatized and marginalized children.

Teachers Without Borders – School Connect has sponsored teacher training workshops and teacher exchange visits with help of funding from the British Council.

Tag Rugby Trust & Winnie Atyang Foundation – funding for sports equipment, tournament sponsorship and coaching has given children exposure to rugby often delivered alongside team-building and HIV education.
